Summer 2011 one for the books...

Dear summer 2011,
You came a few weeks earlier than I had planned, however I guess it's ok.
This week is going to be spent going to the rec before the sun comes up, working very little before it gets warm outside, laying in the sun reading amazing books and lots of baseball games on tv.
Then Abigail and I will travel to Myrtle beach to spend some QT beach side with momma!! Then we will drive a few hours north to watch Mr Bradley Vance do his thing on the diamond.
New Orleans is next up.. NATA convention domination with Ms Abigail again!! Hopefully a lil time to see the wonderful Jennifer Kramer as well while in the area.
I'm hoping to spend some quality time with lil Alaina in July. Omaha zoo is calling our names. Along with a few other play dates!!
So summer please don't disappoint. I think your gonna be awesome and my expectations are high!
Love always
Beck

Third Day -- Revelation

my life has led me down the road that's so uncertain
now i am left alone and i am broken
trying to find my way, trying to find that faith that's gone

this time, i know that you are holding all the answers
well i'm tired of losing hope and taking chances
on roads that never seem to be the ones that bring me home

give me revelation, show me what to do
cause i've been trying to find my way, i haven't got a clue
tell me should i stay here, or do i need to move
give me revelation, i've got nothing without you
i've got nothing without you

my life has led me down this path that's ever winding
through every twist and turn, i'm always finding
that i have lost again
tell me when this road will ever end

give me revelation, show me what to do
I'm on a huge spiritual high right now, last night I went and saw soul surfer... wow.  so many amazing spiritual displays in that movie.  As I head into the regional tournament with my baseball boys, I see my faith being tested all the time.  I love that I am now working on being a stronger daily disciplined woman of God.

Third Day -- Revelation
cause i've been trying to find my way, i haven't got a clue
tell me should i stay here, or do i need to move
give me revelation, i've got nothing without you
i've got nothing without...

i don't know where i can turn
tell me when will i learn
won't you show me where i need to go
oh..let me follow your lead
i know that it's the only way i can get back home...

give me revelation, show me what to do
cause i've been trying to find my way, i haven't got a clue
tell me should i stay here, or do i need to move
give me revelation, i've got nothing without you
i've got nothing without you
give me revelation...i've got nothing without you
i've got nothing without you...

Trusting God takes discipline.

I read this today in an email, so true!

Trusting God takes discipline. We don’t always feel like it. It’s not always what we want to do. It’s not natural. At times we feel overwhelmed and want to soul-scream. If we always acted on our feelings, our lives would be chaotic messes.

I read this after an awful baseball game.  A game where my team wasn't really there.  Baseball is so much like life, if you don't trust what your coaches are saying it results in a chaotic mess...and that game was.  God has great timing.  Good Friday... and realizing that I need more discipline in TRUSTING God.

bad at this 2 blog thing!!

It's Good Friday!
HOLY buckets, Easter has come out of nowhere this year!

I love Easter.  To think that Jesus loved us so much to die for our sins, it's mind boggling. Makes me wonder if I'd die for the sins of people I don't know? hmmm...

So I'm really really bad at this two blog business!  Sorry y'all.  Check out the baseball blog to see what's going on in my SWEEEET life!

Cousins

God made us cousins, because he knew our moms couldn’t handle us as sisters.

These lil ladies are the LOVES of my life...Today I miss them.  I miss being near them, especially lil miss Alaina.  Its so easy to see why she is the "favorite".  She is a lil becky.  My grandparents say it all the time.  And the older she gets the more I see it.  She is onery, I don't have any idea where she gets that!  She stole my heart the day she was born, we just bonded and she still hold my heart.

Yes we may look strange, but no matter what we’re still cousins.

We love taking silly pictures.  Because lets be serious, we are silly and never ever to serious.  We are funny and laugh so very much.  It's usually at Alaina or I, because once again, we are truly connected... she is the mini me.

My lil loves are the sisters I never had.  Now I know I talk a lot about Alaina...
Brooke and Em are pretty wonderful also.  Em is a bearcat!! and Brooke a tiger.  Both are beautiful, successful college students.  Em got married this summer. Yep she beat me to it, the running joke is that Alaina will beat me also...

God bless these wonderful lil loves.  I ♥ them so much and miss them!  They truly are my little sisters and the loves of my life!

My mom amazes me!!

My mom is simply amazing!! She often gets to do the sermon at church, this is because she is so amazing.  Her latest sermon notes are here...
Message Title “Get The Story”

Scripture-Mark 2:1-12
Rev. Gene asked me a several weeks ago if I would give the message today, so that he and Diane could visit their son in California. Sometimes I have ideas of things I would like to share, but this time I did not. It has really seemed like an adventure as I figured out what God wanted me to say. Pam and I discussed it 2 weeks ago, but I still did not know what I was going to say. I told her that I should have plenty of time to think and would come back from Florida with a plan. I expected my evenings would give me time to pray and study God’s word, even though my days would be filled by my “Tech Advantage” Conference. But God did not use the time I expected to give me his message, he used one of the speakers at the conference. Wednesday morning, I had the opportunity to listen to Scott Pelley from CBS 60 minutes. Wow what an inspiration! Who would have imagined at a Technology Conference. I could write several messages from the 60 minutes I spent with him. But what God decided to use was “Get the Story”. When the reporters for 60 minutes discuss what they shall report, they cannot discuss an issue they have to discuss a story. For example they could not report on the explosion in the gulf last summer. So, the reporters search for a story related to the explosion. Scott Pelley found a survivor of the explosion and spent time with the survivor Mike Williams learning Mike’s story. To hear Mr. Pelley describe how the survivor escaped from rig after the fire doors that were meant to save his life would explode violently throwing him back 30-40 feet into walls when he tried to open them. How the lifeboats had left before he made it to the outside. This is where this short video clip from that interview picks up. Mike Williams and Aundrea survived and Scott Pelley has shared their story with many.

As a child, doing the dishes was the time my Mother would get the story. She did not ask a lot of questions, she just listened as my sisters and I discussed our days. Together the 5 of us would clear the table, wash, dry and put away each dish. It may have been a chore, but it was also a social time. Everyone was involved and we would talk the whole time bringing to life the stories of each day. It was mostly a time of laughter, but occasionally there were tears, but most importantly it was never boring. We did the work together as we shared our stories.

Reading the Bible we also find laughter, tears and much excitement. We are so blessed that God gave his word to those who wrote the Bible. So many stories-each one purposely written to help us as we live.

Like David and Goliath from the children’s message, the scripture reading today, describes another one of my favorite Bible stories. I loved to go to camp as a child and teen, and Flaming Spirit Christian Camp in Oregon, Missouri was my favorite. My parents would come on Friday evening to pick me up and I would cry as I left my friends. A couple weeks ago Rev. Gene talked about camp being a mountain top experience. I found the same to be true for me. For 6 days every person was focused on learning Bible stories and bringing them to life. I will never forget the day we did a play portraying the scripture from Mark 2:1-12. We only allowed everyone to sit or stand in a small area at the front of the open air sanctuary. So about 80 campers and counselors are all crowded together. Someone portraying Jesus was at the front was reading scripture. A group of 4 boys tried to push their way through the crowd with a stretcher, but we would not let them through. The next thing we knew, the stretcher was being lowered from the roof at the front of the sanctuary. We all started yelling, “There’s someone behind you!” Jesus turned to him and said, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” On cue everyone started talking at once. It was so loud and so confusing. Then Jesus quieted the group and said, “Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier to say to the lame? Your sins are forgiven or Get up, take your mat and walk? He then turned back to the lame man and said to him, “Take up your mat and go home. The man (a kid my age) stood up and walked through the group. We all cheered and the play was complete.

After listening to Scott Pelley I wanted to get the story. So, for the past week or so ago, I have asked everyone on the love and concern e-mail list, all may facebook friends, and some people face to face, “What is your favorite Bible story?” During Lent we are to find ways to live in closer relationship with God. Learning and remembering these Bible stories has done that for me. It was fun and quite interesting to hear the answers. I know some of them quite well, some I had heard, but could not recall the details. And one I did not have a clue, what the story was about. My nephew Alex, had said his favorite story was “Ehud”. Knowing Alex, I figured he was teasing me. So I pulled up the concordance on the internet and found the story in Judges Chapter 3. It was a story I could see a 16 year old boy thinking, “That’s good!”

From those responses If have modified the Dr. Seuss story, Oh, the Place’s You Will Go to Oh, The Stories You Will Read. I hope this will encourage you to open your Bible’s and read the great stories it contains.

Contratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off with Great Stories?
In the Bible Today!
You have Luke in your head.
You have Psalms in your shoes.
You can steer yourself to
Any story you choose.
You’re on your own
And you know what you know
And Jesus resurrection saves you from where you could go.
You’ll read about Joseph’s Coat.
Look at the parables with care.
About baby Moses’ reed boat
Then parting the red sea- to get out of there.
And you may like Ruth
Or David and Goliath quite a lotter
In that case of course,
Read Jesus walking on the water
There’s Noah’s rainbow there in the wide open air.
In the Bible things can happen
And frequently do
To people as brainy
And footsy as you.
When there’s loaves and fishes.
Don’t worry. Don’t Stew.
There’s 10 Lepers to be healed
But only 1 says “Thank you”
Oh the stories you will read!
Jesus’ miracles lift you up!
Paul’s conversion – bright light!
Join Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego
Then Daniel with lions--there was no fight!
You can’t miss the creation it takes the lead.
You’ll love the prodigal son who had no feed.
Wherever you read, you’ll find the best.
The words of God, will top all the rest.
From Noah’s Ark with animals too
With a Rainbow promise, God won’t do that to you.
Cain and Able-a sad sibling war
The birth of our Savior in a stable so poor.
Jesus was betrayed then denied by Peter 3 times- the cock crows.
Soon Jesus asked 3 times, Peter “Do You Love Me?” --tension grows
Esther the queen saved her people you see.
Paul shakes in prison but no one does flee.
You will come to Ehud fighting the king left his mark.
The shepherds in the field where the angels did hark
Job faced many troubles, trusting God from within!
Do not look back to Soddom and Gommorah, way too much sin!
Do you know whether Martha or Mary was right…
We learn from theses stories, or maybe not quite?
Fishing with the disciples inside a coin we find?
A well dressed Solomon, Mary Magdalene with much on her mind.
The stories and lessons that weave as we wind.
Oh Samson had his hair giving him strength for his pace
Jesus met a woman at the well, and spoke face to face
Christ washed the disciples’ feet taking the servant’s space?
Before dieing on the cross to take our place…Yes everyone’s place.
On and On you will read
And I know you’ll read far.
And face up to your problems
Whatever they are.
You’ll come back to the stories,
That you already know.
You’ll learn more lessons
With your friends as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
And remember God’s word’s
Then you’ll know how to act.
Just never forget to be faithful and true.
And Jesus is always and forever with you.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will indeed!
100 percent Christ guaranteed.
FRIENDS YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So….
Be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
Stand as we sing or final hymn of the day.

Isn't this amazing!  My mom is so creative and such an amazing woman of GOD!

2011:
1: I am becoming a woman of the word.  God's word.  I desire to know more about the bible and understand it with all of my being.  I want to be more than a good bible study girl. I want to serve the Lord every day of my life and know at the end of the day that I made a difference.

7: I know I'll be a great mom and can't wait for that day.  My children (college kids) challenge me every day, but at the end of the day, I just have so much love for them.  I love it when they succeed and it breaks my heart when they have tough times.

month recap...

I'm sooooo sorry it's been a month since i've blogged!!
I've been trying to keep up my baseball blog CHECK IT OUT!!!

This week Tyler was pitcher of the week!! click here for the article I'm like seriously a proud mom about this! I mean just a year ago this young man was in tons of pain every single day to throw the baseball.  And honestly he was in pain the year before also.  As an athletic trainer you never want to see any of the kids in pain, especially not for extended periods of time.  And it's super stressful when you have NO idea how to help control the pain.  So yeah, he went and saw Dr. Andrews, had a lil surgery, did a TON of rehab, and is pitcher of the week this week.  I'm just really proud of him.  He has worked really hard.  click here to read about the journey to Dr. Andrews

Oh yeah, the month... besides baseball -- Bible study is phenomenal.  I love Betty leading it.  Her heart is filled with love that pours out when she talks about the bible.  It's really opened my eyes.  I've enjoyed ever single minute of the study thus far.  We have finished the becoming more than a good bible study girl book, and have just started a lil 5 week study on prayer, and MAN is it intense.  I'm excited tho!

I guess that's the month.  oh yeah -- i've officially become modern now, I have a new TV!! yep college roomies, that huge box 22 inch tv is finally out of my living room.  I now have a beautiful flat screen 40 in high def samsung.  And i love it!!! I never ever knew what I was missing!!

It's finally here!

Hi all from sunny Savannah Georgia!! Yesterday was the beginning of the quest to be the best in 2011. The boys had their first game of the year against Armstrong Atlantic. And in an ugly 12 inning battle the good guys prevail! We won!! Thanks to my favorite gamer Bradley Vance. I know I know one person can't do it all, Bradley gave us the go ahead runs off a 2 run single in the 12th. So yeah I'm gonna give him credit. He is clutch!! He's my guy! Hahah. Well, sorry so short today gotta finish getting ready for game 2.

NO Shadow

Happy Groundhogs day!  No shadow, meaning NO MORE winter... I hope it is not just a myth!!

Bible study Monday night was amazing as always!! Those women are so amazing in their knowledge of the bible.  It seriously puts me in "Awe" moments.  This week was about "in my walk with God" and honestly, I am sooooo far behind.  My friend Janae, that goes with me... she is great!  She understands verses and can go on and on about them.  Her mind thinks like that.  I have been praying to be more open minded and less literal.  And maybe it is working... hopefully!  Anyways, we read in 1 Samuel about David. He was a mighty man.  We discussed how he loved God, but how he sinned and he always came back to God.  And how God always forgave.  And we always categorize sin, however, God never does.  Sin is sin in his book, now that's tough.  Tough for me, I like to think lil things are less sinful than big things.  But thats not the case, sin is sin... think about that for a minute.

How about God at work, on our way to bible study Janae and I were talking about mission trips, and praying for God's will.  While at church, a woman came in late to our study.  After finishing up our video we introduced ourselves to her and her to us, she was from the Ukraine.  WOW.. that's where Janae went over the summer on her mission trip!! Then to close bible study Betty tells us how her friends husband is a preacher and he is in India, and has baptized 1400 people since being there!! Talk about God at work!! WOAH!!

Weekend LOVE of #2

Mother nature finally got off her high horse and gave us two really nice days OUTSIDE!  Baseball was able to get outside and practice. Let me tell you - it was WONDERFUL!  And, we really don't look that bad! The NCAA has a new bat regulation, and those bats do not have much pop.  Needless to say, we have a big yard, and I don't expect to see very many homeruns at USI this year.  A couple of the boys crushed the ball, and it barely went anywhere.  Could be an interesting year for the hitter!

I don't remember if I have mentioned a frequent visitor of the Athletic Training room here at USI or not, but here goes.  We have this man, Wildcat/James Wilhide/Romeo, who comes to USI and is majoring in theatre (this semester, it changes every few weeks depending on which person James is being).  But yeah, bless his heart, he is special.  I mean that nicely of course.  He was in here on Thursday telling us about his singing karaoke.  He sang one song, and I had NO clue what it was.  Then he sang "stroke it"...
Here it is.  And man, is it FUNNY!  Yes it was way funnier in person, but the video does give it justice.  Also, keep in mind that Kelsey is our graduate assistant athletic trainer, and very modest.  So her face turns bright red on several occasions due to James asking her questions!

Anyways, I hope your weekend was full of joy, love, and laughter.  I know mine was.  And now it is Monday, my favorite day of the week - Bible Study Night!!

God first, baseball second...

Sooo, I have decided to journal/blog about my baseball team on it's own blog.  I'm sure parts will duplicate on both of my blogs, but I'm going to give it a try! HERE IT IS! check it out!!!

I got the most wonderful email yesterday from Aunt Nan.  She just has such great timing!  You know how you just get that random email and it makes your day, that was it.  The email didn't say that the world was changing and she wanted me to know, it simply stated how life was for her and her family and ended with a prayer request.  So if y'all can say a prayer for direction for her, I'd appreciate it and I'm sure she would also.

And guess what -- today is the day!!! the day we finally get to go outside!!  This morning we are starting inside for hitting, then team d outside this afternoon!! SWEEEEEET! I'm sooo excited!

Hazelnut Coffee - Gratitude Friday!

Gratitude Friday -- For me today, Hazelnut coffee... black!  YUMMMM.. Over break aunt Nan bought it for new years eve and as soon as I got back to e.ville, I bought some too!  And it continues to make my mornings just wonderful! Soooo wonderful, that I even brought my old coffee pot to work and can now make it any time I desire. Yep, it's that good.  I am just a lil Kent, drinking coffee all day every day.  He would be so proud.

Ya know that "Bling" I was talking about yesterday... welp, I have a pic for ya.

HOW COOL!!! Mine is just the face of the ring.. Still super SWEET!! I love wearing it and telling people all about that wonderful team!
How about this... I finally realized something yesterday about the Bible.  I am not at all a good english person.  I always struggled with knowing what the author was trying to say.  My poor teachers must have thought I was a huge idiot.  And who knows, I just might be.  Anyways, I am HORRIBLE at trying to figure out what the author is trying to say.  I am literal, I take the words literally.  If the scripture says love one another, I believe it mean just that.  If it says do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Then that exactly what I think we should do.  I have been trying to read the Bible and understand what the author of the book is trying to say, but ughhh.. sometimes it just doesn't make sence!  It takes me back to Romeo and Juliet and how horrible that was, the story was good, but trying to dig deeper into forshadowing and all of that... well I am just not very good at that.  Give me a science book or a math problem and I'll look at it all day trying to figure it out. English, still, is just not my thing.  Can we pray that it just comes to me and one day I'll wake up and be like "Ahhhhh, I finally get it!"

ncaa.com -- BIG TIME.. haha

This week on the website ncaa.com -- the picture is T-rev!! Yep, from lil Southern Indiana... just a lil article about being the team to BEAT... go ahead and check it out.  Yesterday "Beans" told me about it and was just really excited.  I didn't share much excitement, until we started talking about the amount of people that probably go to that website a day.  And then it became "cool" to me... wow.. I know I know, we are defending national champions.  However, it's the start of a new year, and it really is just cool.  So is the "BLING" that I am lucky enough to wear around my neck - thanks men!

Another great thing -- Jackie Henderson (Squirrel #3) is the GLVC Scholar Athlete of the YEAR!!  So exciting!  She is pretty much amazing!!

...i'm in a cookie rut... i have been dreaming about them.. it's BAD!  Sooo, i made cookie dough -- didn't cook it and just put it in the fridge to eat.. sad right! I gotta keep working out so I can have a lil bit of greatness everyday!

snow..again!

Mother nature just really is out of control this year!  I wake up this morning to a lil more than an inch of snow on my car -- ugh!  I really thought that maybe, we could go outside for baseball today.  However, another day of being inside.  I need to get over it, I know.

Afterall, it's not all bad being inside.. I can blog and make sure my injury reports and treatments are up-to-date.. ok so it does have it's plus'.

Yesterday afternoon while waiting around for practice, I was looking up some collegiate baseball information.  I came across this awesome quote from one of my all time favorite college baseball coaches.
"I want my players to be aware of what is most valuable to them," Garrido said. "Is it a bat, a ball, a glove or the ability to use those things? Is that it? No. It's the players' minds and their ability to use them. That's what makes the use of a bat, a ball and a glove brilliant. It's my job to help players find balance in their lives. I want to help them help themselves become what they want to be through the fundamentals of baseball. Baseball is nothing more than another classroom in the educational process. Really, baseball is a metaphor for life"
Coach Garrido is the Texas Longhorn baseball coach.  And I think he just has it all figured out.  He wants his baseball players to be successful after college in life.  I love when coaches can admit that.  Yes coaches want to win and be successful that way, but it must be rewarding to have your athletes succeed in life as well.

I WANNA GO OUTSIDE!!

So, I do not know how many of you are baseball fans... it really doesn't matter either - lol... what does matter, is that we all know that baseball is a game to be played OUTSIDE. And outside is where I wanna be.  However, MotherNature is not cooperating! I guess it's about this time of the year where I begin to BEG for nice(r) weather! Last year, I was pleading to get outside, and it's no different now.  I am an outside girl -- and this being in the office since November -- is wearing on my nerves. I just need/want/would prefer being outside!

ok..enough griping! lol.. can we all pray real fast -- t.man has lost (or so he believes) his two-seamer.. So quickly: Dear God, this is probably very unnormal, but can you please help t.man figure out his two-seamer. it's really important to him. Thank you. Amen

Now I know that isn't how we are supposed to ask God for help, but sometimes, we could all use a lil humor.  And believe me, t.man is looking all over for his darn fastball..

Soooo..today, well yesterday - intramural basketball started... which as an Athletic Trainer is dreaded.  This morning we already had one young lady who got "hurt" playing basketball.  It's real annoying for us, I just wish that coaches felt the same way.  Now, we have to help lil miss i think i'm a basketball player but i'm actually a collegiate athlete who does not play basketball, get better and healthy... all the while it could have been prevented if coach would have just said NO, NO intramural sports!

I LOVE MONDAY's...now.

This morning I had an awesome workout.  I downloaded a new app, Nike Training Club.  And I'm soooo excited to have that on my phone now.  It will make road trips and workout time, simple!  I'm so ready for Georgia, in just about 2 weeks!  Oh my goodness... only 2 weeks!  Geezzzz.. I can't believe it, the guys have only been outside ONE time to practice. Now I'm really nervous!   Ok..OK.. back on track.  Working out is going really well, I'm not really having much trouble with motivation - EXCEPT - for the weekends. Hopefully having Nike Training Club on my iphone will help me get over that.
Oh and I LOVE MONDAY's, NOW because -- it is BIBLE study night!! It's my one night a week where it is me and my girlfriends (both old and new)! I'm so excited to see what my friends are learning about becoming more than a good bible study girl.  I got overly excited and read ahead. The book is just toooo good to put down sometimes!  Chaper 1 was about worldly possessions and how to overcome those. Chapter 2 is about reading God's word and learning what it says and why it says it.  It has opened my mind, I've learned I need to know the background of the book and who is writing.  Sometimes the verse can be taken out of context, I guess tho, I kinda like that.  I LOVE thinking to myself, I wonder what was going on in someones life that made them write this. I am learning so much about reading the bible and understanding it. By no means am I an expert, but it really is a great feeling learning and growing in God's word.
As for the weekend, it was great!  Basketball ladies lost in 3 overtimes and the men on a last second shot against Indy on Saturday night.  Both were some great basketball games.  It made me think, my whole job/life is sports.  I missed church because I would rather watch the game and of course I can listen to the sermon via podcast... what is my life coming to!  Thank goodness for Monday Bible study!!

Heaven receives another amazing woman

I might brag about my family a lot... sorry! hahah.. I just think they are so wonderful.
My mother just called and said Auntie Hazel passed last night.  No more suffering and No more pain.  I'm so thankful to have had this wonderful woman in my life.  Auntie Hazel is one of my grandfather's sisters.  She is the nicest, most wonderful, kind hearted woman I've ever known.  I have never, ever in my 29 years of life heard a bad thing about her, or from her.  She was an amazing woman.  I don't know about your family, but on my mother's side we are ALL close.  From my grandmother's siblings to my grandfathers siblings.  I remember going to her house as a child, playing and running around for hours.  She had one of those BEAUTIFUL old farm homes (it was actually a hallmark card!!) Hallmark must have known how special she was also.  She will be missed by all and we know we will see her again in heaven.  My mother and father would tell us stories about how she the cook at their school and how yummy their food always was.  So many precious memories to cherish forever.
My friend Jenn's blog just made sence to me this morning when I read it dead end day. As an athletic trainer you are ALWAYS on everyone elses time.  I honestly don't have a problem with it most of the time, I look at it as my calling, my serving of others and the Lord.  So I feel like my job is God's will for me.  Sometimes tho, my apartment has to suffer the consequences.  Last night I got home about 815pm and all I wanted to do was spend some time in a good book, learning about God, studying the word... that lasted a whole 30 minutes and I was asleep... therefore my apt looks like a pigs pen... hopefully tonight I will be home by 7 and can tackle the kitchen and bathroom.
Lysa Terkeurst - if you haven't read anything by her --- check her out, she is an amazing author!
If I can read half of these, I will be stoked!!

becoming more than a good bible study girl....

I LOVE my monday night bible study group... I know I know it's only week 2. But WOW, amazing women of faith in that group.  It really inspired me last night to be better.  I can't wait to get into God's word.  I can't wait to read and study to bring something to the table next week.
This week we talked about possessions and how worldly life can get.  We talked about how we survive in the possession world.  I discussed that for me, it's about whom I surround myself with.  I want to be around people that hold me accountable for my actions.  I truly believe that also, my friends are my rocks.  And not only my friends, but my family.  All the decisions I make, I try to make with others in mind.  I want to do the best not only for me, but for my friends and family.
I can't wait to get home tonight to get back to the word and LEARN!!

One year ago...

Yesterday was a day I had dreaded...for a whole entire year. One year ago, one of the USI mens basketball players collapsed during a game and never woke up.  NOT something I ever need to experience again...ever. Since that day, I have learned a TON about myself and what I do for my job.  I love my job, like really really love my job. most days anyways... I have since tried to make every person feel welcome in the training room, no matter what sport they participate in and have smiled.  A smile goes a LONG way.  Jeron smiled often.. and I can see that huge smile on his face right now.  so yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say I hope I can be remembered for my smile!  one year ago, this was my blog.

Today.. is just another day at the office! haha.. baseball practice and soccer camp. then church tonight!!

so much for the daily blog thing...

I seriously wanted to blog daily... however, it just didn't go as planned.. that's ok tho, right!
Anyways -  Monday was the BACK AT IT day... I woke up bright and early 5:15 to head to the gym to get in a good dose of cardio and weight lifting to get my week started. and it was REFRESHING! I really missed those early morning workouts (I really did, I LOVE mornings! evenings and staying up late are a completely different story) so yeah, it was wonderful.  Came to work by 745, worked with my lil rehabbers.  Lil Sprite (w.soccer) looks amazing after break, she did her workouts over break and has some mild swelling to prove it.  But all in all, I'm very impressed!! WHOOOO HOOO... finally someone did what I asked them to!! Her buddy Vandy (m.soccer) looked equally awesome.  Altho he is a lil bit further along post ACL surgery, they both are on the right track and are motivating themselves and doing GREAT.  Yep, I feel like a proud proud MOM!  I have another w.soccer kid who however is struggling...a couple bad surgeries and pity are not helping the kid out, however, I'm gonna keep on trying.  This is a task I'm not ready to give up on.  And baseball returned as well.  My lil shoulder kids are coming along.. MoneyMike had a lil hiccup over break but I think he has gotten over that and is back at it.. So yeah, busy morning... The afternoon was Day 1 of spring practice... DAY 1 -- Wanna repeat Nat'l Champs!  It was great seeing all the boys, and the hard work they were putting in.  This year's squad isn't much different from last, same pitching staff -- The Princess Golden Elbow is back.  and a few new arms as well.. MoBro.. is just one I'm sure I'll be blogging about.
The best part of the day was yet to come!!  A couple girlfriends and I joined a Girlfriends Unlimited bible study.. Becoming More than a Good Bible Study Girl.  I am so excited for this journey in faith with Janae and Lauren!!
Tuesday Morning was pretty much the same as Monday.. and the rest of the week will be the same..ugh... Tuesday Night I had class... I think it will be a good class. There are only 9 people enrolled, and I'm excited to have such a small group.
Life is so great and God is the cause!!

Soooo sweeeeet!

I admit I love this life I live!! Not because of me of course, but because of God's plan for me!
Yesterday I signed up for a bible study at church on Monday nights (during the bachelor...what was I thinking!!) anyways... it's called Becoming More Than a Good Bible Study Girl By Lysa Terkeurst.. oh gosh I just put this together -- Lysa Terkeurst is the author of Made to Crave and she has been on K.Love this week. I have no idea if you listen to K.Love http://www.klove.com/ or not but I do, I LOVE K.Love! Now I am even more excited about this study. And just one more reason to be excited about it is my friend Janae is going to join me in the study!!
Now I might really have taken on to much with this study (only time will tell)! As you know, Monday's are usually baseball's "off" day.. meaning the NCAA says that once every seven days a team must have an off day. For baseball that is usually Monday's. Baseball plays the majority of their games Friday, Saturday and Sunday's... so Mondays are their day of rest. I usually try to leave work by 4 on Mondays.. Hopefully this will be great for me this bible study.
Not only is the bible study exciting in my life right now, but I'm meeting with the FCA http://www.fca.org/ (fellowship of christian athletes) representative in our area to start a FCA here at USI. Talk about so much on my platter... I'm so nervous and excited all at the same time. I have thought about FCA for almost 3 years now, and just now I'm taking the plunge. HERE GOES!! I know I have the support of our mens soccer coach and his wife, and the mens basketball coach is on board (so I've heard, I still need to talk to him, add that to today's list!!). but yeah, what an incredible journey!

1-1-11

What an awesome start to 2011!! I spent new years eve with the Pitts'. And it was a blast. Played just dance, last word and imagine if. Watched bsb and nkotb ring in the year and finally fell asleep at 2am. All to wake up and be at grandma's by 10 for coffee break and a full day of playing cards with 2 of my favorite aunts, wonderful grandmother and my mother. It was very relaxing and so much fun. Def a wonderful first day of 2011. I'm so looking forward to what the year will bring. A couple of my goals include running 2 half marathons, understanding more about the bible, being a better steward and living a healthier life. I'll be sure to keep you posted about how those goals are going. Hope y'all had a wonderful day and happy 2011!!
